Steven Paxton’s AETERNA CHRISTI MUNERA is the middle movement from his Three Hymns to the Son for SATB choir, also published by Creative Spirit. It is based on an Ambrosian hymn from the 9th century Musica Enchiriadis. The musical style employs a driving ostinato pattern and a modal tonality.
