TRANSCRIBED FOR FLUTE WITH XYLOPHONE (2)-VIBRAPHONE-MARIMBA (2).  Originally composed for oboe d’amour and strings, Bach also adapted Concerto No. IV as a harpsichord concerto. Steven Paxton has created nine different transcriptions for solo flute or solo saxophone (soprano, alto or tenor) with piano or percussion ensemble accompaniment. The concerto is in three movements: an astoundingly moving central adagio, bookended by exuberant allegro movements. [Original key=A major; all transcriptions in concert key of A-flat major.]
