HYMN & EPITAPH
A setting for mezzo-soprano, harp, and percussion of one of the most intriguing documents of early Christianity, the Passio Perpetuae et Felicitatis (The Passion of Perpetua and Felicitas). Believed to have been written by Perpetua herself in either 203 or 209 A.D., it describes her imprisonment as a Christian in Roman-controlled Carthage, and was completed after her death by a redactor. This five movement work also includes recorded narrative and electroacoustic music elements (available on request from Creative Spirit).
