Meeresstille (Calm Sea) is a masterfully evocative, atmospheric setting of passages from the Goethe poem. Composer Stuart Hinds has achieved international acclaim for his overtone singing and for his compositions using this unique style, and this work provides the perfect vehicle for introducing overtone singing to choral musicians at the  high school level and beyond. Brief solo passages for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass offer opportunities to feature individual singers.
