One of Stuart Hinds’s most widely performed pieces for chorus with overtone singing, Pacem is a moving setting, in Latin, of three lines from the Catholic liturgy:
______I leave you peace.
______My peace I give you.
______Peace be with you always.

A flowing, chant-like melody is passed among all sections, as other sections sustain drones with overtones, at times improvised and at other times carefully prescribed. The result is a brief but moving hymn to peace.
